Chadha Center for Global India at Princeton University's fourth Princeton-India Entrepreneurship Program brought together 23 Princeton students, including Sophie Yanhuan Ryan ’28 and Neiv Sinha ‘29, for immersive experiences across eight companies in India’s dynamic venture and startup ecosystem.   At Theia Ventures, an early-stage climate and deep-tech fund, Sophie and Neiv worked alongside the investment team on active deals across sectors including physical AI, advanced manufacturing, precision agritech and industrial indigenization.   "We couldn't be more grateful to them for the dedication, curiosity and energy that they brought to our investment team, where they worked actively on investment memos, diligences, field visits, sector scans, automation of key processes, and as interim associates," said Priya Shah, founder and managing partner at Theia Ventures. Taking classroom learning directly to the field over the course of my 2-month internship, I navigated 3 pincodes across the Ghazipur–Ballia territory, engaging with 150+ agri-input retailers, dealers, and distributors. Key highlights of my role: 📲 Driving Digital Adoption: Onboarded retailers onto the nurture.retail platform, streamlining verification and KYC compliance. ⚙️ Product & Feature Guidance: Educated dealers on platform navigation, catalog discovery, and placing direct orders. 💡 Value-Added Solutions: Promoted Prime benefits, reward programs, and credit access to help retailers scale their day-to-day operations. 🤝 Building Counter Trust: Gained firsthand insight into how rural business relationships operate and how tech bridges traditional market gaps. The biggest lesson wasn’t just about pitching an app—it was learning how to earn trust at the shop counter and turn digital hesitation into everyday adoption. 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐒𝐘𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐆𝐘 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. I just delivered the final presentation of our project to the Aspire Institute Seed Fund, and what stood out most wasn't our slides or our numbers. It was validation, straight from the people we set out to serve. Over the past few weeks, we put HybriDry (our solar hybrid Automated crop drying solution) in the hands of real smallholder farmers across Budo Orile, AMREC, and Shoren farming communities in Odeda LGA, Ogun State. 40 farmers Participated. More than 30 of them told us, in their own words, that it solves a problem they live with every season, and that having a dryer they can monitor and control remotely, even with thier phone changes everything for them. That's not a projection. That's not a pitch. That's testimony, straight from the farmers' mouths. Today, Aspire gave us the stage to share that story, and it hit different knowing the validation didn't come from a panel, it came from the field, months before we ever stood in front of one.
