Today I spent a lot of time connecting some of the pieces we've been talking about. One of the biggest things was finally getting harvesting working. A crop can grow through its stages, reach harvest, and now the farmer can actually click Harvest Crop, enter the yield, and have that information saved as part of the crop's record. That might sound small, but it changes the way I think about the app. It's no longer just: "I planted maize." It's becoming: "I planted maize → I monitored it → I got advice → I harvested it → I recorded what I got." I also worked on the advisory system, separating general farming knowledge from recommendations that are actually specific to a farmer's crops, livestock, and weather. And I added a rotating Farm Knowledge section to the dashboard, so instead of throwing random "tips" at farmers, the app can gradually expose them to practical farming knowledge. I also spent quite a bit of time cleaning up the UI and making the pages behave properly on mobile. Not the most exciting part of development 😂, but definitely one of those things that makes the app feel much better. There's still a lot I want to improve, especially around what happens after harvest and eventually helping farmers keep track of the value they're getting from what they produce. But honestly, I'm happy with where this is going. I'm getting to the point where I don't just want to keep adding features because they sound cool. I want to start putting Farm Companion in front of actual farmers, hear what they think, find out what they'd actually use, and build from there. For Day 8 (Farm & Field Track), I built a real-time "Call Analytics & Performance Dashboard" for Kisan Vaani — connected directly to SQLite (kisan_memory.db) to track every voice call outcome, success rate, regional language, and duration. 🎙️ What I built on Day 8: • 🌾 Defined Success Criteria for Kisan Vaani: A call is marked SUCCESSFUL when requested mandi rates/weather information is delivered, saved SQLite memory is loaded, or an emergency KVK officer ticket is created. Marked FAILED if disconnected prematurely before query completion. • 🗄️ SQLite Session Logger (call_logs table): Automatically logs every call session upon disconnect with Call ID, Caller Name, District, Language, Outcome Summary, Duration (sec), and Status (SUCCESS / FAILED). • 🌐 Multilingual Regional Support: Added explicit language tracking (Hindi Devanagari, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, and Tamil) to monitor regional voice accessibility across Bharat! • 📊 Real-Time Web Analytics Dashboard UI: An interactive glassmorphism dashboard featuring 4 live metric cards: 📈 Total Calls ✅ Successful Calls ❌ Failed Calls 🎯 Success Rate % • 📜 Protected Call History Log Table: Renders recent calls with colour-coded status badges, regional language badges, time, district, and outcome summaries while protecting caller privacy. • 🔄 Live Increment Verification: Completing a successful call automatically increments Total Calls and Successful Calls live on the dashboard! Trees have a daily rhythm, and it’s critical that we listen🌳 Every day, a tree undergoes a 24-hour shrink-and-swell cycle driven by transpiration. During the day, trees lose water through transpiration faster than their roots can absorb, causing their stems to shrink. At night, they rehydrate and expand. When irrigation isn't optimal, excessive shrinkage signals water stress before visible signs even appear. As a result, the trees shrink excessively, and yields suffer. Monitoring this 24-hour cycle allows growers to eliminate guesswork and irrigate with precision.
