Before Harvverse was on-chain, it was in the field.
Between 2016 and 2019, we ran Late Harvest: Best of Honduras — a direct trade program that reshaped what was possible for specialty coffee producers.
The numbers:
→ 400+ producers across 6 coffee regions of Honduras
→ Price trajectory: $2.50/lb → $41/lb
→ Buyers from Japan, Australia, USA, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand
→ $130K+ directly to producers in 2019 alone
Then COVID-19 suspended everything in 2020.
But the model was proven. The relationships were built. The data existed.
Harvverse is that model — digitized, scaled, and verified through IoT and on-chain contracts.
We didn't build a platform and then look for a use case.
We validated the use case across 4 harvest seasons, then built the infrastructure around it.
That's the difference.
Follow Harvverse for updates on the next chapter.

Last Tuesday, I had the opportunity to attend the 4th Annual Agrochemicals R&D & Innovations India Summit 2026 in Mumbai—an insightful and power-packed event emphasizing that innovation today is no longer just about developing the next molecule, formulation, or biological solution, but equally about the effective protection, positioning, and commercialization of innovation.
A few themes really stood out to me as an IP professional. The sessions on biologicals in sustainable crop management, environmental stewardship, and microbial innovation clearly highlighted how rapidly microbial and bio-based platforms are emerging as valuable, patentable assets. Equally interesting were the discussions around the industrialization and scale-up of advanced formulations, along with the regulatory challenges associated with introducing new active ingredients.
Key takeaway: The future of agrochemicals will belong to those who can innovate responsibly and commercialize intelligently. As an IP professional, it was genuinely energizing to be part of these conversations and to hear such practical, forward-looking perspectives from leaders across the ecosystem.
Grateful to Varunraj Limaye and Dr Venkatesh Seshan for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the conference. Looking forward to applying these learnings into practice.

🔥 DAY 36
Today I wrote code that I couldn't have written 36 days ago.
Not because I learned a new library. Not because I watched a new tutorial.
Because I finally understood the problem deeply enough to write the solution clearly.
Here's what happened today at Corteva Agriscience 👇
I've been building this computer vision pipeline piece by piece. Frame extraction. Grayscale conversion. Histogram equalization. Each piece made sense alone.
Today I connected them all.
One script. One video input. Every frame extracted. Every frame normalized for lighting. Every frame preprocessed and ready for disease detection.
End to end. No breaks. No errors.
I ran it on actual agricultural field footage and watched it process frame by frame by frame until the terminal printed
"Pipeline complete. 2,847 frames processed."
I just sat there for a second.
Because 36 days ago I didn't know what a frame was.
That number 2,847 isn't just frames processed. It's 36 days of showing up distilled into one terminal output.
Nobody saw that moment. But I'll remember it. 💻🌱

Exploring Vienna’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: From Space Tech to Venture Capital
I’ve just finished two intense field trip days as part of my E&I Course 2: Explore Entrepreneurial Ecosystem at WU Vienna. It’s interesting seeing how start-ups take their first steps and how they are able to benefit from funding programs. Furthermore, I was very impressed by the ideas of the presented startups.
Day 1: The Tough Tech Incubator Hub in Tulln
We kicked things off at ac//cent in Tulln to see how high-level research actually turns into a business. I was particularly impressed by the diversity of the startups there as well as the complexity of the products. We got to chat with the founders behind:
ENSEMO & EcoMycoSprouts (innovating in agritech and soil restoration)
Brewcycle (turning food by-products into fertilizer)
RNAnalytics (working on LNP test kits)
MESHARA (internet for underserved areas) and Cosmotaics (solar panel tech)
The session in Tulln was very interesting, especially hearing about how ENSEMO or EcoMycoSprouts are turning biological research into products that could literally save our topsoil.
Day 2: From Space to Scale-ups
Day two was a marathon through Vienna’s biggest players. We started early at the Airport with ESA Phi-Lab Austria and accent. Huge thanks to Andreas Temmer, Alexander Fernandez de Retana and the teams from Tecnet, Nexufend, Brimatech and GATE Space for showing us the hardware side of innovation. Hearing Moritz Novak talk about the challenges of building hardware at GATE Space was really interesting. It is good to know how much specialized support and infrastructure a startup needs before they even get off the ground. We even saw a rocket propulsion system, which is something you don’t get to see every day.
The afternoon was all about growth and capital. Christopher Polligkeit talked about Plug and Play acceleration, then we moved to weXelerate where Michael Schmidt and Marie Chuffart from i5growth gave us insights on their area of activity. We finished the day at Speedinvest, where Laurens Asamoah and Valerii Mikheev gave us a transparent look at how VCs actually pick the winners. It was very cool hearing about how a venture capital fund actually evaluates talent and scalability. Laurens Asamoah told us, that he already took around 60 flights this year, which showed that as a fundraising analyst, you have to travel very much.
My Takeaway:
If these two days taught me anything, it’s that great ideas are only half the battle. The real secret sauce in Vienna is the ecosystem itself. You need the whole chain, from the researchers at WU and TU to the growth experts and the capital from investors. It’s not just about one person, it’s about the community supporting them.
Big thanks to Mag. Benjamin Monsorno and Dr. Dorothee Horváth for getting us out of the normal classroom and organising these two exciting and interesting days!
