Moa Technology and Certis Belchim Formalize Strategic Collaboration

Moa Technology and Certis Belchim announced a new strategic collaboration focused on the development of next-generation Moa Amplifier™ solutions for global agriculture. The partnership brings together Moa Technology’s herbicide discovery platforms with Certis Belchim’s experience in product development, regulatory approval, and global marketing of crop protection products.

Under the agreement, the two companies will co-develop a novel Moa Amplifier molecule designed to work with a specific herbicide active ingredient. The goal is to support crop protection by reducing the amount or concentration of herbicide required, while maintaining effectiveness in the field.

Moa Technology’s Discovery Platforms and Amplifier Concept

Moa Technology has disclosed more than 80 new herbicidal modes of action over the past three years using its proprietary discovery platforms. In August 2025, the company introduced Moa Amplifier molecules, a new class of non-herbicidal compounds that can enhance the performance of existing herbicides.

Using its Moa Gamma™ platform, Moa Technology has identified hundreds of these amplifier candidates. The company has begun designing and developing selected molecules in collaboration with commercial partners, including Certis Belchim.

Dr. Virginia Corless, CEO of Moa Technology, said, “We are really looking forward to co-developing a Moa Amplifer with the team at Certis Belchim, who have shown real passion and commitment towards innovating for their customers.” She added that the agreement reflects growing industry interest in Moa Technology’s discovery capabilities.

Certis Belchim’s Role in Development and Commercialization

Certis Belchim brings experience in translating research-driven innovation into market-ready agricultural solutions. The company focuses on product development, regulatory strategy, and commercialization to support growers worldwide.

Mark Waltham, CEO of Certis Belchim, commented, “The current discovery and regulatory challenges faced by our industry are a real threat to the toolbox of herbicides available to farmers now and in the future.” He noted that Moa Amplifier technology could help mitigate these challenges and potentially broaden herbicide options available to farmers globally.

Addressing Industry Challenges in Crop Protection

Both companies indicated that the collaboration is intended to respond to increasing pressure on herbicide discovery and regulatory approval. By combining discovery, development, and market expertise, the partners aim to advance new tools that align with current agricultural and regulatory requirements while maintaining effectiveness for growers.
