At CPB Contractors, we’re committed to developing skills and providing training opportunities that prepare the next generation for rewarding careers in construction. That’s why we’re partnering with Year13 and Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) on their Virtual Work Experience program.

This initiative gives students across Australia an inside look at what a career in construction involves, helping them explore pathways into a thriving industry.

Featuring Undergraduate Site Engineer Andrew Russell, the program takes participants behind the scenes of a live project, showcasing the day-to-day responsibilities of building infrastructure that shapes communities.

Queensland’s construction sector is entering a phase of rapid growth, fuelled by a strong population increase, major infrastructure projects, and the added boost from Brisbane 2032 preparations.

The 2025–26 State Budget allocates a record $116.8 billion to infrastructure, including $29.3 billion for capital works in 2025–26 alone. The public sector also dominates the engineering pipeline with a 68% ($17.5b) share, mainly in bridges, railways and harbours.1

CPB Contractors' commitment to a sustainable future starts with building industry capability—making practical, job-ready skills accessible to all entrants.

Industry partnerships are essential to scaling up the skilled workforce, strengthening the certainty of delivery on major projects for years to come.
